Q&A: Amber Riley Hates a Bully

Amber Riley
Part of the reason why we love Glee is because it’s about the underdogs — the ones who are bullied, but still prevail! So, it makes perfect sense that Glee star Amber Riley has partnered with Secret and PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center for the Mean Stinks campaign.

We sat down with Amber to talk about the campaign, bullying and, of course, that show she’s on:

I Heart Daily: What made you want to join the Mean Stinks Campaign?
Amber Riley: I want to help girls deal with bullying and take a stand against it. I get so many letters from girls and I want to inform them and give them a resource that helps deal with bullying and other tough issues.

RED Hearts: The Best Summer TV

RED Hearts are guests posts on I Heart Daily from the authors of RED: Teenage girls in America write on what fires up their lives today.
Today’s RED Hearts post is from Jordyn Turney, 21, in San Diego, CA, who’s reporting on the best shows of summer:

If there’s one thing summer definitely doesn’t lack it’s guilty-pleasure television — silly, stupid, vapid shows that come in to replace all the good fall series. But I don’t believe in guilty pleasures. If a show is good or entertaining, awesome. And I’m not going to feel guilty about watching it. Even if it is built around the idea of laughing at people when they fall.

In fact, one of my favorite summertime shows is just that — Wipeout, ABC’s reality game show, where contestants run various obstacle courses in the effort to win a bunch of money. The show’s whole point is the comedy of watching people wipeout again and again. Not exactly highbrow, but definitely entertaining.

Travalo: Perfume To-Go

I just flew back home from a lovely trip and boy — are my arms are tired (sorry, couldn’t resist the corny joke)!

Though I packed efficiently and practically for my vacation, there was one thing I left out that I wish I could’ve taken: my perfume. But while I was throwing things into my toiletry bag, I realized my full-size bottle of Hanae Mori was just too heavy, not to mention over the TSA regulation of 3 fluid oz.
