New York Fashion Week is in full swing, and that made us want to hunt down more ways to be visually inspired. Tolly Dolly Posh, 13, lives near Toulouse, France and has such a fun and lively sense of style that we had to find out more about her. So we talked!
IHD: What inspired you to create your blog?
Tolly Dolly Posh: My goal is to become a fashion designer, so I wanted an outlet to showcase my ideas, but I also love writing, so a blog seemed the perfect of places!
IHD: Where does your sense of style come from?
TDP: I think probably my mum in one way as she is a former Mulberry accessories designer, but most recently my style has developed due to reading so many blogs! (Favorites include: Lisette Loves, What Olivia Did, Girl in the Lens and Hey Dickface – excuse the rude word, it’s a great blog!).
IHD: What are your favorite pieces of clothing right now?
TDP: My jelly shoes! They are so comfortable and versatile! I also love my denim shift dress! It was a bargain and it gives my look a retro vibe!
IHD: What are you hearting right now?
TDP: I definitely think that the ’50s and ’90s are inspiring me, especially with my style. I love the vibe of those two eras!
IHD: What advice would you give to a girl who has a unique sense of style but is afraid to stand out?
TDP: The good thing about fashion is the fact that you aren’t doing anything wrong. It’s not like you are saying anything which can hurt someone, you’re wearing what you love wearing. Some people might love jeans, but you love stripey tights… who cares?! Be yourself. ‘YOLO’ as some people might say. Wear what you want, and inspire people to do the same!
