Kate N., 16, runs a lovely tumblr called Pretty Dresses in the Laundry all the way Down Under in Australia (and she has 25,000+ followers!). New York Fashion Week just ended, but the ripples made by the shows is just beginning, and we sat down with Kate to talk about her inspirations.
I Heart Daily: Who are your favorite designers?
Kate N.: I love Acne and Dries Van Noten – their designs are so simple but gorgeous at the same time. I also love Christian Dior‘s designs, they are always so bright and colourful.
IHD: Where do you shop?
KN: I don’t really shop anywhere in particular. I tend to shop anywhere that I see something I love. Lately, I have been shopping online a lot, at Beginning Boutique and OASAP.
IHD: What’s on your wish list right now?
KN: I am going through a phase of loving peter pan collars, so I am eyeing two dresses, one from Dotti and one from ROMWE! I also really want a pair of ankle boots, especially a Wild Pair and Shubar pair!
IHD: What do you love most about the fashion blogging community?
KN: I love how kind and inspirational everyone is! I have gotten to know some lovely people who run other blogs and I love looking at other peoples’ outfits and at all the latest editorials. You can receive worldwide feedback on your blog and outfits, meet new people and read tutorials that you would not find anywhere else. I love that it is always real girl fashion, outfits that can be easily purchased and seen in a realistic light.
IHD: If you made an inspiration board today, what would be on it?
KN: I would probably put my new favorite quote, ‘hope for the best, but expect the worst’, the DSquared2 Pre-Fall 2012 by Lorenzo Marcucci editorial, featuring my favorite model, Barbara Palvin. I would also include lots of gorgeous clothes and accessories and my latest book crush, Amazing Face by Zoe Foster.
